He Is Risen.. Now What?

The empty tomb changes everything… even when we don’t fully understand it.

Easter Sunday is here and the Church gives us something surprising: not a dramatic appearance of Jesus, but an empty tomb. In this week’s episode with Fr. Patrick Hyde, we’re invited to sit in that mystery and let it transform us.

Key Themes from the Readings & Conversation:

Witness, not rumor (Acts 10:34a, 37–43):
Peter boldly proclaims: we saw this. The Resurrection isn’t hearsay it’s real, lived, and meant to be shared.

Set your mind on what is above (Colossians 3:1–4):
Easter isn’t just a day it’s a new way of living. The risen Christ reshapes our daily lives right now.

The mystery of the empty tomb (John 20:1–9):
No Jesus. No explanation. Just a moment where everything has changed and the disciples begin to believe.

Fr. Patrick highlights something powerful: the Resurrection is both clear and mysterious. The tomb is empty that’s certain. But what comes next? That’s where faith steps in.

For the catechumens entering the Church this Easter (over 75 at his campus ministry alone!), baptism changes everything yet it’s only the beginning. The Christian life becomes a rhythm of receiving grace through prayer, Scripture, and sacraments and pouring it out through charity and witness.

And here’s the challenge:
We don’t need to have all the answers. Like Mary Magdalene, we’re simply called to go and tell.

“It’s not my job to convince you… it’s my job to tell you what happened.”

That’s the Easter mission.
