Using magic tricks to evangelize… we love St. John Bosco’s creativity! I mean… we make Catholic socks around here. 

At a young age, John was captivated by circus performers and realized that if he could learn tricks, he could captivate others. He had a heart for the poor boys in the streets and used magic tricks to get their attention. He used to perform a trick where he turned three separate ropes into a single rope to illustrate the mystery of the Blessed Trinity. After each show he would recite a homily. He eventually founded the Salesians of Don Bosco, whose main focus is the care and education of children.

What a great ministry--my socks speak for themselves!

I received a gift of St. John Bosco socks (since I am a Salesian of Don Bosco) and was wonderfully surprised. I liked them immediately and began showing them around. I especially liked, on the small information card with your web address, a short bio of St. John Bosco. I especially liked the quote of his to his 'boys'--in short, have fun but do not sin. RUN JUMP PLAY!!

I gave these socks as a gift to our parish priest who is the chaplain for our grammar school. He is often out at recess time playing volleyball with the 7th graders (a difficult grade). I told him he reminds me of one of my favorite saints. He thinks the socks are great!
